Letter from the President

Welcome! On behalf of our chapter, I would like to welcome you to the Gamma Phi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta at Texas Tech University! Our organization is dedicated to building strong and lasting bonds of friendship between members who strive to live in accordance with the noble ideals of Kappa Alpha Theta. These standards include the attainment of highest scholarship, the exercise of the widest influence for good, and the standard of love. We are a group of passionate, motivated, and loyal members committed to attaining the finest and most rewarding college experience.

Apart from the connections we make through sisterhood, we also offer many of opportunities to get involved in all aspects of campus life. Members of Theta enjoy Panhellenic events, leadership opportunities around campus, an outlet for spiritual growth, and much more. We are actively involved in our local CASA of the South Plains chapter and partner with them to host the CASA 5K run each spring. We have also just implemented Theta Corral this fall; a barbecue benefitting CASA as well. CASA, or Court Appointed Special Advocates, also serves as Kappa Alpha Theta’s national Philanthropy. Tech Theta’s are involved in many aspects of service in our community including Day of Service, Adoption Day with CASA, Relay for Life, Habitat for Humanity Greek Build, as well as giving back through local churches. We host weekly Bible studies, service projects, lunches, and sisterhood events for all of our members as well as a packed social calendar that includes mixers, date parties, formals, tailgates, and Parent’s weekends! We take pride in competing in all intramural sports and campus-wide events, while still emphasizing the importance of academic success.

As President of the Gamma Phi Chapter, I am absolutely honored to represent such a remarkable and diverse group of women, and I could not be more proud to call each and every one of these fabulous girls a sister for life. Last fall we were fortunate to welcome in our beautiful and newest member class of 2013 and we have continued to excel in all aspects of the Texas Tech Community. Please enjoy looking through our website to see what else we have been up to and the exciting things that are yet to come!

Theta Love and Mine,
